I have been creating and prospecting in creativity for nearly 20 years now. When I say that out loud I have to stop and count and make sure that is correct. But it is. Ever since a young age, I knew this is how I wanted to spend my time. These paintings are just a sampling of what you will be able to see in my website.
This California Poppy is done in Sharpie Marker on a 12" x 12" stretched silk canvas. A canvas like this can take as little as 6 - 8 hours, and as many as 40. My favorite part about these canvas's is that once completed, they are even more beautiful against, or with a back drop of light.
This landscape, also done in Sharpie, is done on an 11" x 14" stretched traditional canvas. I love the way the clouds can look just after a storm. The reds and yellows that make up the last lights of the day, to me, add an essential part to living.
I couldn't resist this portrait. Two little tree frogs clambering for attention from the camera? No problem, lets get them on canvas. This portrait is done on a canvas camping chair. The forest green in the chair complimented the green and blue in the frogs.
This is a Catalina Macaw. This is water color on a 11" x 14" cold press paper. These beautiful birds often find their ways into homes of would be pet owners only to find themselves homeless because they can be un-manageable and messy to care for. These beautiful birds are better left on canvas and in the wild.
I first fell in love with hidden pictures when I saw some of Bev Doolittle's work for the first time. I had so much fun doing this picture. Each element seemed to come to life on their own. Hopefully the faces on the trees, and the other creatures will convey the playfulness I had intended with this piece.
I hope this tour has given you a glimpse of who I am and what I like to do. To see more of my work, click on any of the pictures or here on this link. artbystaci.com
